Craniosacral Fascial Therapy In Boise From An Experienced IBCLC
When you struggle to breastfeed, it dampers your time with your new baby. You’re worried about the next feed, if they’re getting enough milk, why they’re extra fussy, and wondering if they will finally sleep longer than 25 minutes.
As lactation consultants serving the Boise area, we are here to support you during this unique time of your life. There can be a lot of reasons for breastfeeding trouble — and together, we pinpoint your baby’s issue and get you on the road to happier breastfeeding.
We have tons of additional education on an array of ways to benefit you and your baby’s feeding journey. Two of the most gentle and effective ways are Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and Craniofacial Therapy (CFT)
These studied techniques aid in releasing tension in your baby’s central nervous system through precise soft touch. When your little one relaxes, important messages travel throughout their body more clearly. It just helps everything in their system work better. Not every IBCLC has education in this area, and we are proud to offer CST and CFT to the babies we serve.

How Does Craniosacral & Craniofacial Therapy Work At Baby Bonds?
1. Initial Consult
Spend 60-90 minutes covering everything related to your baby, breastfeeding goals, and birth.
2. Evaluation
We go over your baby’s latch, milk supply, assessment of oral function, feeding weight checks, rhythmic movements, and more. During this time we are able to fully assess your baby’s ability to breastfeed.
3. Individualized Care Plan
Feel prepared with all the resources and information you need to succeed at home. Every family’s unique, and so is each baby. Together, we come up with a feeding plan that works for your family. We teach you “suck training” and how to perform rhythmic movements at home.
4. Craniosacral/facial Therapy
We save this wonderful remedy for the end of each session. Your baby’s nice and full from feeding, which sets them up to relax even more. You’re right next to us as we perform small, powerful touches that directly impact your baby’s nervous system. This part lasts 10-30 minutes — depending on how your baby responds.
5. Follow-Up Visits
We strive for your feeding goals with regular follow-ups. These sessions range from 30-60 minutes, and we finish each one with CST/CFT that relaxes and resets your little one.

-
Yes, with proper training, it’s completely safe. Always do your homework before working with an IBCLC, since we don’t all pursue the same specialties.
-
My CST training included two Upledger CST courses. Each included 3 days in person and a year of practice before you could move onto the next course . (That was 5 years ago so 5 total for me — and counting!)
My CFT training under the Gillespie method was a 6-day intensive where we learned fundamentals for 3 days and then worked on babies for 3 days.

It depends. (You may have at least 6 visits available with your plan!) Lactation Networks covers CST/CFT. Baby Bonds works with Lactation Network, which works with your insurance. Find out if you’re covered here.
